Sonata can incubate and process
over 200 shake flasks concurrently
Automated cell line process development
The system is pre-programmed with your automated shake flask processes
Sonata automates:

  • Automated shake flask processing
  • Maintenance of cell stocks
  • Cell line characterisation & selection
  • Culture optimisation – fed batch
  • Stability testing
  • Protein expression
Sonata offers:

  • Automation of existing processes using standard shake flasks
  • Automated cell line process development
  • Management of a number of different experiments in parallel
  • Unattended operation, including evenings and weekends
  • Investigation of a range of cell culture parameters
Sonata reduces cycle times through rapid identification of optimum clones and culture conditions.
Applications include:

Sonata, TAP’s latest development is optimised to grow suspension cultures in shake flasks for expansion of mammalian and insect cells. Sonata can be used to automate the manual shake flask processes that are used for cell line development to select cell lines and optimise culture parameters prior to use in bioreactors. The system is capable of fully automating multiple cell line development experiments such as determining growth curves, optimal feeding strategies and stability studies.

  • Automated shake flask processing
  • Biologics cell line and process development
