There are striking
differences in morphology and biological
response of cells in a 3D environment compared
to standard 2D culture, including differentiation,
proliferation and drug metabolism. However,
adoption of 3D technologies into routine
use has been slow because they are technically
demanding, labour intensive and can give
variable results. |
| |
RAFT
has been designed to overcome these issues,
and enables researchers to produce complex
3D cell cultures simply and conveniently. |
| |
The RAFT System is based
on a novel, patented process using collagen
to mimic closely an in vivo environment.
The RAFT plate, reagents and protocols together
allow multi-cellular 3D cell cultures to
be made rapidly and consistently in standard
plate formats. |

Custom projects are undertaken
by TAP’s Advanced Projects Group (APG).
TAP’s specialist
engineers, software designers and biologists
analyse scientists’ bottlenecks and
subsequently provide custom automation solutions. |
| |
TAP has successfully completed
a range of custom projects - from specific
upgrades of existing systems to enable added
functionality, to entirely new product developments.
|
| |
TAP also offer a range of
product development services to support
companies that have new technologies but
lack experience in design and development
of enabling automated systems. |
| |
- International
Stem Cell Corporation (ISCO)
has commissioned TAP to develop a custom
system to automate and scale up the
production of stem cell-derived human
corneal tissue
